Spain edges Germany to reach final

Carles Puyol soared high to head in the goal that sent Spain into the World Cup final for the first time with a 1-0 win over Germany on Wednesday.

In a rematch of the 2008 European Championship final that Spain won by the same score, Puyol leaped in the center of the area in the 73rd minute to score from Xavi Hernandez's corner kick, finally giving Spain the lead after having dominated from the opening whistle.

Spain's best previous World Cup finish was fourth in 1950, when the final round consisted of a four-team group.

In Sunday's final at Soccer City, Spain will meet the Netherlands, which has also never won football's biggest trophy.

Traveling to Las Vegas

On June 16th I decided to take a road trip. I went to Los Angeles to pick-up my sister and cousin. I didn't know that Las Vegas was so close to Los Angeles. I took Highway 15 into Las Vegas. What a experience. Las Vegas was 100 degrees or above the whole week. What a change from the weather in Portland, Oregon. I felt I was in heaven for 5 days. there is soo much to see and do in sin town. We mostly walked Las Vegas strip and tried to visit as many casinos as possible. The food was outstanding. If you ever wanted to eat great sea food. Go to the Rio Casino .... all you can eat seafood. I think the price range is $29.00. All the seafood you can eat..is worth the $29 bucks. Can you say Lobsters,Shrimps,Clams,Salmon, and much more. What a treat, and the staff is outstanding. The Rio is a few blocks off the strip , but it's well worth the time and effort.

Never to old to attend College

Congratulations to myself for attending College again. I've been granted regular admission to Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. The Adult Degree Program is designed for working professionals to earn their Bachelor in Business Administration degree or other fields. Both of my kids are gone, and left the nest. My Son Isaiah is Attending the University of Oregon, and will be graduating in March 2011. So, I thought it will be great to finish what I started a long time ago. Education has always been high on my family values. Next, will be my daughter Brittney. Brittney just had a baby girl name "Aaliyah ", so I can give her a break. I know she will complete her course work. In the meantime, be safe and have a great day. "Sitting next to 20 year olds in college will be challenging but worth the effort and time".

Vick reinstated, but not free under Goodell

The terms of Vick's conditional return for the 2009 season go far beyond any player punishment levied since Goodell became NFL commissioner almost three years ago. To Goodell, it wasn't enough that Vick already missed two full seasons while serving 19 months in a federal penitentiary for dog fighting. If he wants to play in the NFL again, Vick will have to live much of his private life the way Goodell wants him to lead it.
